It’s that time again.

USA TODAY Sports’ panel of experts has returned to provide weekly prognostications of NFL games.

The season starts Thursday night with the Eagles hosting the Falcons, and newcomer Mike Jones — well, this is his first full NFL season at USA TODAY Sports and maiden voyage as a futurist — is the only one who likes the champs to start their Super Bowl defense with a win.

A fair amount of unanimity elsewhere for Week 1, though one notable contest that produced divided opinions was Jags at Giants. Only three from our ranks like the defending AFC South champs to open with a victory against a team coming off a 3-13 season. Maybe big things are in store for rookie Saquon Barkley and a now healthy Odell Beckham Jr.
