NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) — Sarah Paulson’s roles in American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson and American Horror Story influenced the actress’ smoking habits, she said during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The 41-year-old, who portrays lead prosecuting attorney Marcia Clark in Crime Story, said her character’s constant smoking on the show has led her to get used to the practice.
“I don’t smoke at all in life,” she told Colbert. “When we first started I was coughing a lot, and then eventually I started to kind of — was like ready for a smoke.”
“It got me a little crazy for the ciggies,” Paulson joked, adding she also smoked in American Horror Story, which was shooting at the same time. “It was a real situation.”
“I’m selfish I just kinda wanna wait and watch myself,” she said.
