Mel Gibson’s former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, has lost more than $14 million for violating a judge’s order not to talk about the couple’s split.
The Russian model and singer, who is the mother of Gibson’s 6-year-old daughter, will now receive only $250,000 from the original $15 million settlement between the two. Grigorieva went on Howard Stern’s radio show in 2013 and accused the “Blood Father” actor of domestic violence, according to TMZ.
The couple split in 2010, after Gibson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery. He also agreed to a custody settlement that included a $15 million payout to Grigorieva for their daughter Lucia. But part of that agreement stipulated she could not release audiotapes of Gibson that allegedly would keep him from winning any boyfriend of the year awards.
When the audiotapes surfaced of Gibson telling her she “deserved” to be assaulted and he’d “bury” her, the former couple negotiated a new deal, giving Grigorieva $750,000, to be paid in three installments. The judge reiterated she couldn’t talk about the case, which she did to Stern.
Gibson has paid $250,000. An appeals court recently ruled Gibson is no longer on the hook for the remaining $500,000. So Grigorieva will end up with 1/60 of the original amount.
