Lando Calrissian appearing in Han Solo standalone film

Lando Calrissian will appear in the Han Solo standalone film, according to The Wrap.

Though Disney and Lucasfilm aren’t saying anything officially, sources have reportedly told the website producers are looking for an actor to play the role made famous by Billy Dee Williams in episodes five and six.

If you somehow missed it, Lando is Solo’s old buddy, former pirate, ladies man and all-around scoundrel. He sold Solo out to Darth Vader in “The Empire Strikes Back,” but later redeemed himself. He’s also the former owner of Solo’s ship, The Millennium Falcon, which he lost to Solo playing cards.

Solo will be played by Alden Ehrenreich. The yet-to-be-named film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
