Hugh Grant couldn’t recognize Renee Zellweger?

Hugh Grant couldn’t recognize Renee Zellweger recently, even though he co-starred in two movies with her.

It wasn’t quite clear whether the “Florence Foster Jenkins” actress was kidding or not on “Watch What Happens Live” on Thursday, when he was asked a series of questions involving six of his former female co-stars, according to E! Online. When Zellweger — with whom he starred in two Bridget Jones movies — appeared, Grant seemed perplexed.

“Who is the one second from the right, because I’ve never seen her before in my life?” asked Grant. He looked shocked when someone told him. “Oh Renee!”

To be fair, he’s not the only one who hasn’t recognized her the past year or two. She’s been accused of having plastic surgery, something she has denied.

Grant then acted a bit derogatory to his former co-stars, saying none were “down to earth.” He also said he hasn’t kept in touch with any of them because “they all hate me, I think.”

I couldn’t imagine.

After a long hiatus from movies, Zellweger will return next month in “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”

Grant was asked if he’d been approached to appear in the third installment of the franchise.

“They did come to me a couple of years ago,” he said. “They had a lovely idea for a film. I’m particularly difficult and queeny when it comes to scripts, and I couldn’t quite make the script work for me, so they then made it without me and I’m sure it’s brilliant.”

When asked if he might regret not signing up, Grant said “It depends how much money it makes, obviously.”
