Brad Pitt is trying to make a sequel to “World War Z.”

Why?

The original made $540 million worldwide.

Never mind.

The project looked like it might be dead after losing director J.A. Bayona. . But producer Brad Pitt hopes to resurrect it (Get it? It’s a zombie movie) by enlisting David Fincher, who directed Pitt in “Fight Club,” “Seven” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Paramount and Skydance, the companies behind the film, have met with Fincher, several sources reportedly told the New York Daily News.

The first film, which was released in 2013, had a number of production problems, including writers having to reconceive the film’s third act. Nevertheless, it went on to become a hit.
