J
ason Aldean and his wife, Brittany Aldean, were back in Las Vegas on Sunday, a week to the day after a gunman opened fire during his performance at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

The couple apparently were in town to meet with victims.

Brittany Aldean posted an image to Instagram of the couple on the airport’s tarmac near the festival site. The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, from which the shooter took aim at concertgoers, is visible in the distance.

“Feels surreal being back in Vegas today. Visiting some of the strongest people we have ever met… fighting the toughest battle of them all… for their lives. You have helped us try to begin the healing process by seeing the strength each one of you have. Thank you for today. We will never forget. #vegasstrong,” she wrote.

University Medical Center Hospital, Nevada’s only Level I Trauma Center, which treated many of the victims, tweeted a picture of Jason Aldean outside the hospital. “Thank you to Country Music Star @Jason_Aldean for visiting today. His visit helped cheer those who were wounded in this tragedy,” the caption read.
